ABOUT JIM TILMON
Jim Tilmon is a success in many and various career areas. He flew airplanes for a commercial airline for 29 and a half years spending a portion of that time as an instructor. He hosted the television program "Our People" the first of its kind in the nation, a show of, for and by Black people. He served on television, on both NBC and CBS, in Chicago for over 25 years as a weather anchor and aviation analyst. He is an award-winning producer of audio and video presentations with over 35 years experience. Jim is also an accomplished concert musician and has played first chair clarinet with the Lake Forest Symphony and B-flat clarinet with the Evanston Symphony in Illinois. Along with creating, performing and recording the CD Soft Songs (previously released as Angel Whispers) he has created original music for video and audio productions including made for television motion pictures and some of his works are used in conjunction with a one-woman dramatic performance, Winterkill.
Having retired from commercial flying and resigned as a television anchor, various television, cable news and radio stations across the country often seek Jim’s commentary and aviation analysis. He currently also holds the position as Vice Chairman of YourSuccessNetwork, LLC, a source of life skills and personal development training available through interactive internet access whose mission is to offer content to broaden the minds of those, particularly youths, who have the desire for change and are willing to take the time to learn.
Jim is also in the process of writing and publishing three books and creating music for his second CD. |
